Living History of a Battalion Armourer
Mike Homard has dedicated a lot of his time to bring back to life a display depicting a Battalion Armourer working in the field with equipment, tools and weapons of the 70's and 80's. The main feature is a working 3 Ton Bedford RL, which will be remembered fondly by many of us old armourers. It has been set up with a workshop in the back, plus of course the creature comforts which made the fitter section the envy of the battalion. Mike has a 'Modest' collection of legally deactivated Small Arms as well as the tools, gauges, EMER's and handbooks to back them up. Mike is always looking for more of the same to add to the collection. His latest acquisition is a MOBAT anti-tank gun, which is in the process of being renovated so that it can become part of the display.
Below you will find some photo's of the display, it is in the early days of construction, so we will add photo's as they become available
