GENERAL PROCEDURES FOR ANNUAL REUNIONS
1700 - Secretary meets representative of the venue to ensure all is as planned.
1730 - Bar opens, members and guests assemble at bar.
1930 (approx)
- Members and Guests are invited to take their seats.
- President welcomes members and their guests and asks them to stand for Grace.
- Dinner and convivial conversation ensue
- Coffee is served
- Chairman calls upon youngest member present to give the Loyal Toast.
- The Chairman proposes a toast to the Guests
- The President gives a short address and introduces the Guest of Honour, if applicable.
- The Guest of Honour gives a short address and concludes by giving a toast to 'The Armourers'. (In the absence of a Guest of Honour the President will give the toast, 'The Armourers')
- The President presents the Guest of Honour with an Association tie, or appropriate momento if the guest is a lady.
- The Chairman conducts brief Association business
2100 (approx.) Raffle tickets are sold and the raffle held.
2330 Bar closes and members disperse
NOTES:
a) The reunion is the nearest thing to an AGM that the Association has. After the Chairman has concluded Association business, item 10 above, members will be invited to put forward their views on any matter relevant to the Association. Whilst this is an opportunity to make their views known it should be monitored to ensure time spent does not detract from the social element of the evening.
